Friday Favorites- 2/15/19

Local Natives is Taylor and I’s FAVORITE band and when Spotify sent me a presale code for their tour, I jumped on it! The new album hasn’t even come out yet, but we are so excited to see them live. The first time I ever listened to them was live at The Varsity in Baton Rouge back in 2014. And they’ve been my favorite band ever since. Unfortunately, they’re not coming to Baton Rouge or New Orleans on their tour, so we’ll be seeing them in Dallas! I could honestly stop right here this week because this is just the ultimate favorite, but other goods things happened this week too.

We also booked a weekend trip! We’ll be heading back to Austin, Texas for a little birthday/weekend getaway pretty soon. We went last summer and we loved it, but it was the dead of the summer, so we’re going a little earlier this year hoping for slightly better weather. We found what looks like the perfect AirBNB which is our favorite way to vacation.

Madewell Slim Boyjeans (and shorts)- I’ve been getting tired of skinny jeans lately. I mean, don’t get me wrong I’ll never stop wearing skinny jeans. They’re just the perfect jean for just about any outfit or occasion, but I’ve wanted to switch things up a bit. These slim boyjeans from Madewell are exactly what I was looking for. They’re high waisted (fave) and not tight, but not too baggy. They’ll definitely require a little more styling so I don’t end up looking frumpy, but they’re so comfy (and cute!). I’m typically inbetween jean sizes so I originally ordered the smaller of the two and they were HUGE. They definitely ran big. SO when I exchanged them for a smaller size, I went ahead and ordered another pair of my favorite shorts from last summer. I also ordered them in a smaller size because I’ve lost some weight since last summer. They are the PERFECT jean short. I have such a hard time finding jeans shorts that fit well and are the right length, and these fit the bill perfectly. I know I’ll get a ton of wear out of them because I practically lived in them all last summer.

Valentine’s Day- This year we decided to keep things pretty chill for Valentine’s Day. So we picked up some pizza dough from Whole Foods and made a little heart shaped pizza and watched a movie together. It was the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day.
