Etsy Spotlight: Wedding Edition

Although planning a wedding is expensive, there’s so many fun extras you can buy. My favorite resource for all things wedding was Etsy. They just have so much unique stuff to pick from, and I love the idea of supporting smaller businesses instead of just ordering from Amazon. So I’m going to share with y’all everything I bought from Etsy for my wedding, plus a few ideas of things I would’ve liked to have bought.

Custom Watercolor Venue Painting

This was the VERY first thing I bought for my wedding, and it still my favorite purchase. I made my own wedding invitations (which I’ll have a post showing you exactly how I did it soon) and I knew I wanted a watercolor of our venue on them. So I commissioned Sarah from Lily and Hue to paint it for me and I am in love with how it turned out. She was great to work with and the process was so easy. I sent her a few pictures and then after she worked on it she sent me a proof and then made any changes I wanted. She then sent me the digital files in multiple formats, and I was able to easily use it to make my invitations. It’s also a piece of art that I will have forever. I’m actually planning on having it printed and framed for our new house.

Guestbook

I knew I didn’t want to spend too much on a guestbook because like two pages get signed and then that’s it. But I still wanted it to be pretty so I went with a small size book in our wedding colors (burgundy and gold) and it turned out so pretty! I actually don’t have a picture of ours and it’s currently packed in a moving box right now, but just imagine it’s burgundy and says 10 27 18 Rae+Taylor. It’s cute. I promise.

Stamp

We got a stamp with our return address to use on the Save-the-Dates, Invites, and RSVPs and it was a total lifesaver. I can’t imagine having to write our address on all of those. And I just liked the look better than using a label. I got the self-inking stamp because it was easier.

Bridesmaid Robes

Bridal Robe

I got my robe and my bridesmaids robes from the same shop, and they were great. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the bridesmaids robes because so many of them seem like cheap satin, but these were really nice! I got the Blossom Floral color. For my robe I got an all lace robe with a slip underneath.

Wedding Band

This is a big one! We bought Taylor’s wedding band on Etsy! Since he wanted a simple gold band, we decided to order through Etsy because it was cheaper for the exact same thing you could get from a jeweler.

Veil

If you’ve never had to buy a veil before, you probably don’t realize how expensive they are. A PLAIN veil from the bridal shop where I got my gown was almost $200. For a single piece of tulle!! So I got my veil from Etsy for $60. I got the chapel length. It was pretty, well-made, and good quality material. This shop has other styles so if you wanted one with lace or more layers of tulle, she probably has it. And I can guarantee you it will still be cheaper than from a bridal shop.

Honeymoon T-Shirt

Okay so this one isn’t really for the wedding, but I wore this shirt in the car on the way to our honeymoon! It’s so soft and so cute, and now I use it as a sleep shirt.

Other Ideas:

Invitations

If you don’t feel like going the DIY route, Etsy has so many beautiful invitations to pick from in all styles and price ranges.

Hangers

Taylor’s sister actually made hangers for us, but she doesn’t have an Etsy shop. There’s so many cute designs to pick from on Etsy and the prices are pretty reasonable!

Bridesmaid gifts

There’s tons of cute stuff for asking your friends to be bridesmaids or gifts thanking them for being in your wedding.

Truthfully, Etsy has everything you could ever want or need. So if you’re planning a wedding, or a bridal shower or bachelorette party, definitely check Etsy if you haven’t already!
