This week we celebrated our dog Dolly’s 4th birthday! If y’all remember, we adopted Dolly last October. She is a retired racing greyhound. So, her 4th birthday was the first birthday she’s spent with us and I decided to be a little extra and throw her a party!
Okay, so the party was just me, my husband, and our two cats, but who says that can’t be a party? I’m also pretty sure my husband thought I lost my mind, but he was a great sport and took lots of pictures for me!

I think this whole party idea started with me wanting to get her a birthday hat. And then I thought “well if I have the hat, I might as well get decorations, and it’t not a birthday party without cake…”
Dog Birthday Party Decorations
I got this pack of decorations from Amazon. It came with 2 banners, the foil balloons, and a pack of regular balloons. It even came with a tiny air pump. It was less than $15 and I was really pleased with the quality. I thought it looked great for photos!
Dog Birthday Cake
I made this cake that I bought from Amazon. It came with the bone shaped pan and everything. The cake worked perfectly and popped right out of the pan. The icing worked alright, but it got hard SUPER fast. So I had a hard time spreading it on the sides of the cake. And I just used some spray cheese for the decorative icing.
This picture cracks me up y’all. She is the goofiest dog, but we love that lil long face anyway.
