Bullet Journal

Current Make-Up Routine

It seems like everyone has been organizing and simplifying their lives lately (thanks to Marie Kondo). Your bullet journal is a great way to simplify your life and make you more productive! I decided to start small and clean out my make-up drawer (okay, two drawers and desktop organizer- I have a problem). I’ve noticed that even though I have drawers FULL of make-up, I tend to reach for the same products day after day. So why not actually get rid of those other products that I don’t use, and just hold on to the really good ones that make me feel pretty when I wear them.

Now, I definitely didn’t get rid of everything, because I do have some makeup that’s specific to different events (like “going out” makeup, or “day at the beach” stuff”). Once I cleaned out my make-up, I decided to make a spread in my bullet journal of my go-to everyday makeup routine. This helps me spend less time getting ready in the morning. It’s such a time waster to stare at 10 different foundations and pick what I’m “in the mood for” that day. I thought I’d share some details about the products mentioned in my spread in case y’all haven’t found your favorite make-up options yet.

Thayer’s Witch Hazel- Okay, so this obviously isn’t makeup, but I use it everyday before I put on any makeup. It provides a great surface to apply my foundation on and it keeps my skin from getting oily throughout the day.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear I LOVE this foundation. It provides really good coverage while still feeling light and looking natural. It’s also a perfect shade match for me. It’s actually the foundation I wore on my wedding day because I just love it that much. It’s definitely worth the splurge.

L’Oreal Infallible Full Wear Concealer in Porcelain- This is a new find for me and I’m loving it. This is the closest dupe I’ve found for Tarte Shape Tape at the drugstore. It provides great coverage and actually comes in a shade light enough for me to use under my eyes.

Physicians Formula Mineral Wear pressed powder- Finding a good setting powder has honestly been a struggle for me. I don’t want anything too matte, but I also what something that provides an extra bit of coverage. This has been my favorite that I’ve found. It gives you a very natural finish and keeps your foundation and concealer in place for the day.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow- It blows my mind that there was such a long period in my life that I didn’t fix my eyebrows. I know it’s a bit dramatic, but touching up my eyebrows makes such a huge difference in how I look and feel for the day. This is what I use everyday. Some days if I’m feeling lately I’ll use the Anastasia Brow Pencil, but the dip brow gives a more realistic and defined look. Also, a jar of the dip brow will last FOREVER. So don’t let the price scare you because you will definitely get your moneys worth.

Nars Blush in Orgasm- This blush is a classic. It works well on so many skin tones. It gives a subtle rosy cheek that’s easy to use every day.

Physicians Formula Butter Highlight in Pearl- This has been my favorite highlighter lately because it really gives a dewy, glow from within look. It’s a cream formula but I’ve never had a problem putting it over powder. Oh, and it smells DELICIOUS (just like the beach).

Physicians Formula Eye Booster in Ultra Black Okay so I don’t ALWAYS wear eyeliner, but when I do it’s this one. It’s so easy to use. It makes a nice smooth line with minimal effort.

L’Oreal Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara- This is my favorite mascara (drug store or high end!).It makes my lashes longer and fuller. And the waterproof version doesn’t budge! The only downside is it’s a bit hard to take off.

Sonia Kashuk Lipstick in Barely Nude- I originally tried this lipstick a couple years ago because it was on clearance at Target and then they stopped making it. It’s like the perfect everyday lipstick so I stocked up on eBay. I don’t know what I’ll do when I run out of my stash. But for now, it’s my go-to lipstick.

It’ll be interesting to look back at this spread years from now (or even just months from now) and see which products I still use daily. What’s y’alls daily make-up routine?
