May Bullet Journal Set-Up

Happy May everybody! I like to think it’s officially summer now, although I know it’s not. It definitely feels like summer for us in south Louisiana. I wanted to get my May Bullet Journal up for y’all today before I leave for a little work trip this afternoon. This will be my first conference with my job (or ever) and it’s kind of exciting because I get a hotel room! I’m looking at it as a tiny vacation!

I kept my May theme super simple and decided to do flowers! I didn’t stick to just one type of flowers, but instead did a mixture of a couple different varieties.

For my May cover page I knew I wanted to do some watercolor flowers, and while the Archer and Olive paper CAN handle watercolors, it’s not my favorite to work with. And you do have to be careful not to use too much water or there can be bleed-through and wrinkling. SO, instead I did my watercolor in my Moleskine Watercolor Sketchbook and glued it into my journal. I really loved how this worked out and I can see myself doing this in the future.

For the lavender on my monthly spread, I used my Tombow markers. It was super quick to draw them this way and I like the way it turned out.

I’ve been using this weekly spread for over a month now and I really love it. I like having my habit trackers weekly instead of monthly because they’re easier to keep up with and I can track different habits that’s I’m focusing on weekly. I use the notes section to jot down memories or funny things that happened.

You can also see that I used watercolor directly on the pages of my journal for the flowers. It works, but the paper really sucks up all of the water quickly, so it’s hard to get a good effect and control it. Also, can you spot my mistake??

If y’all want to follow along with my monthly planning, follow me on Instagram. I post all of my weekly spreads before they’re filled out, and sometimes I’ll post them after the ink too!
